Velo Retro 2025

Ulverston, Cumbria.

Great weekend at the Veloretro. The whole town turned over to everything vintage and retro with a very friendly atmosphere and plenty to do.

At the Saturday afternoon bike show, Dave Norman won 'best bike' in the pre 1960s category with his 1950s 'Carpenter' and John Hoare won 'best bike' in post 1960s category with his 'Cinelli' with period wheel carriers, both very worthy winners.

A great turnout by the Vics on Sunday for the main event. 6 riders taking on the hilly southern route, Peter Kavanagh, Ian Kernaghan, Paul O'Toole, John Hoare, Dave Norman and myself, through quite lanes to coastal roads. Despite some rain at the start, it didn't dampen our spirits. The lunch stop in the village hall at Gleaston was amazing, we were spoilt. Offered far more food than we could eat.
